New Minivans in San Antonio: 2016 Odyssey vs. 2016 Town and Country

Minivans are historically the most versatile and family-friendly vehicles on the block, and the 2016 model year proves them to be more versatile than ever! With all-new body styles, never-before-seen technology features, and reassuring safety features, minivans are not what they used to be! Getting excited about choosing which minivan is the best option for you and your family? Make sure you make the right choice, first. Today at Benson Honda we are comparing two award-winning new minivans in San Antonio: the 2016 Odyssey and the 2016 Town and Country!

Safety First

The top reason you’re getting a minivan (aside from flexibility) is the incredible safety ratings they are said to have. Like everything else, some have better ratings than others and in this case it’s the 2016 Odyssey. The Odyssey has a perfect overall 5-star crash safety rating in the NHTSA front crash test while the 2016 Town and Country only received 4 stars. In addition to the NHTSA test, the Odyssey scored a “Good” rating in the IIHS small overlap crash test. The Town and Country? A “Poor” rating. We could tell you which one we’d want our family riding in – the 2016 Honda Odyssey!

Performance & Reliability

The Odyssey isn’t just incredibly safe, it’s proven to be more powerful and more reliable than the 2016 Town and Country! J.D Power and Associates’ 2015 Initial Quality Study of new cars ranked Honda 14th in initial quality and Chrysler is ranked 31st. Plus, the Odyssey has a 5-year corrosion warranty with unlimited miles but the Chrysler van’s corrosion warranty runs out after 100,000 miles. Lastly, The Odyssey is faster than the Town and Country, going from zero to 60 MPH in just 7.4 seconds, compared to the Town and Country’s 8.1 seconds.

Features

One really helpful feature on the Odyssey, especially if you have children, is the ability to roll a window up or down with the button on the keyless remote. That way, if windows are left down, instead of restarting the car or having to back to it, you can roll them up from a distance. The Town and Country minivan does not offer this feature. The Town and Country also doesn’t offer the standard fuel-locking door like the Odyssey, or the center folding armrest, standard smartphone integration, a HondaVAC or power tailgate! With the Odyssey, you’re getting significantly more features.

Those points just about sum up the comparison of these two new minivans in San Antonio, and we’d choose the 2016 Odyssey over the 2016 Town and Country any day! Do you agree? Stop by Benson Honda to see how else the Odyssey can impress you!
