Ridgeline Production Will Take a Short Break for Redesign

Waiting for the 2014 Honda Ridgeline in San Antonio

The 2013 Honda Ridgeline. Photos of the 2014 model have not been released yet.

Something we admire, and what our customers love about the Honda Ridgeline is how it is unlike any pickup trucks currently on the market. One of our favorite features here at Benson Honda is the sleek truck bed design, an innovation which distinguishes the compact pickup as a Honda. As with the other 2014 models yet to be released by Honda, we are really anticipating getting the 2014 Honda Ridgeline in San Antonio.

However, recent news has surfaced that the Ridgeline will be taking a break for a little while. Honda has announced that they will be suspending production of the model in September of next year to work on its redesign. Don’t get too worried though, this does not mean that they have given up on the Ridgeline. According to their production schedule, they will pick up with production in the second half of 2016.

You would think that halting production would mean that the 2014 Honda Ridgeline won’t be seeing many changes, but we at Benson Honda have been thinking otherwise. Honda hasn’t released much information on the new model which usually means that they’re cooking up something sweet.

The appeal of this sports utility truck is that it provides a versatile bed with a swinging tailgate and under-bed storage. It looks like a pickup but drives like an SUV meaning better fuel efficiency. Honda has been successful in multi-purpose vehicles, such as the Pilot CUV, and the 2014 Honda Ridgeline will be no exception.

This one of a kind truck bed includes a horizontal-swinging tailgate and under-bed storage.

A turn-off for most is the compact size of the Honda Ridgeline, but we believe it is a perfect example of how big things come in little packages. As in the 2013 model, the 2014 Honda Ridgeline is expected to be loaded with a 3.5-liter V6 engine capable of developing 250 horsepower and towing 5,000 pounds. We don’t really consider that small.

It will be quite exciting to see the new 2014 Honda Ridgeline in San Antonio. Although we are a bit disappointed that this will be the last new model for two years, we know that we can expect big things. You can be sure that we will have more information available on the 2014 Honda Ridgeline release date as it becomes available. Until then you can check out our current Honda Ridgeline Inventory.
