The new Honda Odyssey will keep up the tradition.

Like everyone, we look forward to the various auto shows that happen throughout the year. Being car folks here at Benson Honda, it’s always exciting to see what the next big thing in the industry might be. And more often than not, that “next big thing” seems to come right out of the Honda camp.

Recently, we became privy to some information about the upcoming New York Auto Show. It turns out the show will be the site of the debut of the 2014 Honda Odyssey. And while Honda isn’t saying all that much about the upcoming debut, it has mentioned that the new Odyssey will continue the tradition the current Honda Odyssey in San Antonio has started. This includes keeping up the title of best ownership value in the class. With fuel efficiency at the forefront for Honda, we can be sure that the 2014 Honda Odyssey will be one efficient family minivan.

Considering what the current Odyssey already offers in the segment, we’re excited to see what Honda has up its sleeve for the next version. The current Odyssey tops out at 28 MPG highway fuel economy* while also having output of 248 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. This makes it not only an affordable option to drive, but also a minivan with an outstanding balance of performance and efficiency.

With safety and high-tech features to boot, the Odyssey has slotted itself in as a minivan that just makes sense for a large portion of consumers. We know that the Odyssey is safe since the current version was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The rearview camera and DVD rear entertainment systems show off the technological advances of the minivan.
