Honda coming out with Plug-in Hybrid Accord

2014 Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid
A plug-in hybrid Accord is on the way as well.

We’ve been flooded with information lately on the new 2013 Honda Accord in San Antonio, TX. But here at Benson Honda, we’re always keeping our ears to the ground for the latest information. That has paid off, as we’ve become privy to information on the 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid Sedan. This newest version of the Accord is set to go on sale in early 2013 and it will actually be able to travel using nothing but electricity for 10 to 15 miles – with a total driving range of 500 miles.

The new 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid will work with a two-motor system – a first for Honda. An Earth Dreams 2.0-liter four-cylinder will be teamed with a 124-kilowatt electric motor. With this method, fuel mileage is expected to exceed 100 MPGe, which stand for miles per gallon equivalent.

The 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid will be able to operate on electric alone until it runs out, then the regular gas engine will kick in from that point on. There will also be a mode that will allow the car to switch back and forth between the two driving modes to conserve electricity and save gas at the same time. This will allow it to function very much like a traditional hybrid car.

So it’s a busy time here at Benson Honda, to say the least. The incoming 2013 Honda Accord has been gaining some serious buzz, while the new electric version is also picking up momentum. The two are sure to be stellar models in the San Antonio new car lineup here at Benson Honda. Make sure to contact us to get the latest on the all-new Accord models that are coming soon to the lot.
