2013 Honda Accord Concept Turns Heads with Advanced Technology

More Honda Technology to Hit the Streets of San Antonio

Automakers traditionally beef up their concept vehicles for auto shows, but rarely deliver the same technological advances once the cars hit the highways. Honda is an exception with its Honda Accord Coupe Concept, revealed at the North American International Auto Show. Benson Honda, a premier Honda dealership in San Antonio, TX, awaits the arrival of the 2013 Accord.

According to an article on MSN Autos, “Honda’s “concepts,” it seems less a vision of the future and more a preview of next year’s model.” Expected to hit the North American market in the fall of 2013, the Accord is newly designed with its 2.4-liter direct-injected, 181 horsepower four-cylinder, or a 3.5 liter SOHC V6 engines. The Accord offers a variety of powerplant options and will also be available as a plug-in hybrid with three modes: all electric, gasoline-electric and direct drive.

The all-electric Accord runs on a 120 kW motor powered by a 6 kWh lithium-ion battery, and is expected to have an electric-only range of about 15 miles with a top speed of 62 mph. Fully rechargeable, the Accord is ready for action in four hours with a 120-volt charger or in 1.5 hours using a 240-volt charger.

The coupe is also equipped with a lane departure warning system, blind spot warning technology and Forward Collision Warning technology for “enhanced driver safety, visibility and security,” says Honda.

The 2013 Honda Accord strives to take technology, performance and safety to the level. Benson Honda looks forward to the all-new coupe. For more information about the dealership’s vast selection of new and used Hondas in San Antonio, TX, check out the dealership online or on-site today.
