The Sounds of Civic, a contest that encouraged Honda Civic fans all over the world to make a song, has ended. The contest was awarding over $2,500 to eight top finalists and for first place a new 2012 Honda Civic. Benson Honda, the leading Honda dealer in San Antonio, Texas, knows the heart and passion these musicians put into their songs. Benson Honda is proud to be part of the Honda family.

First place winner was Jonatan Barahona, a freelance piano player. His video won voters’ hearts with its originality and ability to touch hearts. Barahona’s song and video were titled, “Forever.” He said that it was a tribute to environment and inspiration.

"In the song, I wanted to bring to light Honda's ability to change the world through reliability and environmental responsibility. I believe that sustainable energy is something that we should be pursuing rather than digging ourselves deeper into dependence on fossil fuels," said Barahona. "[To Honda fans] Thank you so much for your votes and your support!"

As part of the contest, Barahona will perform his song at the 2011 Honda Civic Tour when it comes to Anaheim, California in October. And, of course, he’ll be driving around a new 2012 Honda Civic that he also won during the contest.

"There were so many wonderful contributions to The Sounds of Civic, but his entry stood out on production, originality, and best captured the spirit of the Honda Civic. Congratulations to Jonatan," said Kurt Antonius, assistant vice president of public relations, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
